We are looking for a driven and autonomous energy enthusiast to join our team of six colleagues in Brussels as Product Manager Energy.

In this role, you combine your expertise in energy markets and regulations with a commercial mindset and product ownership to help drive the growth of our business. You are responsible for the full life cycle of your product portfolio, from market and regulatory design to operational excellence. As the owner of your product area, you will follow up and report on the product's profit and loss performance, ensuring that commercial objectives are met and opportunities for growth are captured. In addition, you will interact regularly with clients and act as product and market expert for complex commercial, regulatory, and operational topics.

Depending on your drive, expertise, and personal interests, your responsibilities can evolve rapidly, expanding your scope to multiple products and market areas.

Whether full-time or part-time – let us know how we match up on this point.

This is what you like

  • You drive the evolution of your products by combining customer insights, market developments, and regulatory changes into competitive service offerings. For this you actively engage with industry stakeholders and working groups to stay ahead of key developments and work closely with the product management team at our headquarters in Cologne.
  • While customer service remains the primary point of contact for customers, you will provide expert support on complex customer questions and business cases, contributing to excellent service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • You take ownership of the operational performance of your product line, continuously identifying and implementing process improvements that support business growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • You actively contribute to business development with your expertise and data analysis preparing and following up on offers, thereby representing Next in the market.
  • You analyse and report on margins, cost structures and profitability per product, client or market, and present the financial reporting to management and internal stakeholders. Further, you ensure that the product is profitable and take necessary actions to constantly improve the profitability.
  • You constantly improve your knowledge and expertise of the electricity and ancillary service markets and share it to the relevant internal stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner.
  • You travel to Cologne when necessary to enhance collaboration with the teams.

These are your qualifications and skills

  • You have a master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Natural Sciences, or equivalent via proven relevant experience.
  • You have at least three years of working experience in the energy sector as well as a good understanding of the energy markets and regulatory environments in Belgium.
  • You like the mix of being a hands-on and proactive problem-solver.
  • You are autonomous, analytical and able to work on several topics in parallel. You take ownership of your work, proactively identify internal and external opportunities, and consistently focus on process structure and efficiency.
  • You are a real team player, able to integrate into diverse teams and enjoy expanding your network both internally and externally.
  • You communicate clearly, purposefully and to the point - without detours, but with impact.
  • You speak Dutch and are fluent in English. Speaking French is a plus.
